Thought I'd arrive fashionably late and see how everyone else had got on...

Managed to get out through the mush first time, and pretty chuffed. Had a good hour or so whizzing along, hopping a bit... just getting used to waves, really. Came back in and wondered what was so hard about that...

..till I tried to get out again. It took 3 attempts over about 2 hours, each attempt ending with a knackering 400m or so walk of shame. At last I got out again, and just as I got past the waves and hooked in... *ping*! The harness gave way again. NOT happy. Trying to fix that and getting hammered by the waves was pretty scary. It took 3 attempts to get the harness fixed, and I was about to bottle out... Glad I didn't, as I ended up spending an hour or so riding right on the edge of my abilities. Even did a really good jump - on purpose - and a good landing. It was by far the most energetic sailing I'd ever done... hitched a lift on a wave to get back and got to the beach a happy but quivering wreck. A dam good familiarity & training session.
